Who are we?

We are a network of more than 100 people who, in solidarity, began to organise ourselves in the summer of 2018 in response to the situation of migrants who were abandoned and left without rights at the train station in Irun.

We understand that everyone has the right to a dignified welcome.

Irun is a mandatory border crossing point for people who are searching for new opportunities and were displaced from their places of origin, which we colonised not so long ago, and that we are still plundering for resources.

Public institutions cannot remain indifferent to the difficulties faced by people forced to migrate and must assume their responsibility.

Breakfast meeting, 1 September 2018

In the face of this emergency, we set up the network to offer our individual and collective resources for a dignified shelter. Organising working groups to offer food, clothing, hygiene, health care, etc. and putting pressure on the institutions to stop doing this work out of popular goodwill and to take charge of it. Two years later, we have managed to get a shelter in Irun, although with many restrictions and opaque rules, and to demand the abandonment and demand rights for all people.
